Chicks!

We hope to one day be grass farmers- which I think I've explained in the past. An integral part of that plan is chickens.
While goats etc. are calling our name... we think it would lead to our neighbors in our surburban neighborhood calling us not nice names.
So chicks are our next step in the grass farm journey.
We've had them for a little less than 48 hours.
We're researching like crazy.
We couldn't see how we could do it in our area so were resisting looking into raising chickens as we didn't want to make it too hard to wait on getting them.
Evidently we couldn't wait anyway...
so now we research- with cheeping in the background:)

They all have names already. The one in the pocket above is Dawn (possibly Don- the chicks are not sexed). The other 5 are Domino, Dixie, Picky, Lulu, are Squawk. There are 4 RI Whites and 2 RI Reds. They are currently housed in a box (see above) in our basement. We plan to move them outside in about 4 weeks. We need to start working on a coop!
